Hearing screening can establish if your child has sufficient hearing for speech and language development or learning in the classroom.
Our clinics screen children and young people aged from 9 months – 16 years. The screening is performed by an allied health assistant under the supervision of an audiologist.
You can book a hearing screening for your child if:
- you have concerns with:
- speech and language development
- pronunciation or speech clarity
- hearing
- learning and behaviour
- you require a screening as part of a developmental or behavioural assessment.
Your child is eligible for a hearing screening if:
- they are not currently accessing audiology or ear, nose and throat (ENT) services elsewhere.
- they live within our catchment areas.
- they have not had a hearing screening within the past 12 months.
How to book an appointment
Parents and carers can make an appointment by calling (07) 3290 8970 or or by making an appointment booking enquiry. If you are not sure if your child requires a hearing screening or diagnostic audiology assessment, please speak with your GP.
