About the service
The Healthy Hearing Program offers hearing screening to all eligible babies at birth. In addition, we provide hearing screening for infants and children who have hearing concerns after birth, including those with risk factors for hearing loss or concerns about their hearing, speech, language, or communication development.
If your child is diagnosed with a permanent hearing loss, our program can provide medical and early intervention specialist services to help Queensland babies with hearing loss get the best start to life.

Newborn hearing screening
After you have your baby, you can have their hearing checked. We call this a newborn hearing screening.

Queensland Children’s Hospital Childhood Hearing Clinic
Our childhood hearing clinic is free and supports families with a child who has a permanent hearing loss.

Townsville Hospital Childhood Hearing Clinic
We partner with the Townsville Childhood Hearing Clinic to support families in North Queensland who have a child with permanent hearing loss.

Our team of hearing loss family support clinicians can help you find the services and support you need.

Community Hearing Screening Clinics
We offer free hearing screening for eligible babies, children and young people from 9 months to 16 years in our community clinics.
