LGBTQIA+ Employee Network
We're dedicated to supporting LGBTQIA+ inclusion, which is shown through the creation of a dedicated group focused on LGBTQIA+ diversity and inclusion. Our group includes people from different areas within CHQ, with both LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies working together. Our goal is to make CHQ a welcoming and inclusive place for LGBTQIA+ people and empower people to be their authentic selves.
In 2025, we started an LGBTQIA+ Employee Network. The network’s goals are to:
- Provide a sense of belonging and community for LGBTQIA+ staff and their allies
- Contribute to organisational change
- Increase the visibility and representation of the LGBTQIA+ community at CHQ
- Provide a forum for sharing of resources relevant to employee wellbeing, patient care, and organisational inclusivity.
The LGBTQIA+ Employee Network is open to all employees, including both LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies.
Both the Diversity and Inclusion Working Group and Employee Network receive expert advice through a partnership with ACON Pride in Diversity. Additionally, we have plans to take part in ACON’s Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI) in 2025 to earn recognition as an inclusive employer of LGBTQIA+ individuals.
We're also committed to advancing gender equity and cultural diversity in the workplace.
