Our program
Connecting2u is a free service that sends supportive text messages to families from pregnancy through to age 5. With trusted health information, practical advice and links to local services, Connecting2u helps families access the right support at the right time.
What you can expect
Messages are personalised to your postcode and include information about local services and support available in your area. Messages are also tailored to the child’s age and stage of development, so you receive the right evidence‑based advice at the right time, which covers:
- care options and support through physical changes
- support for Dads, Mums, caregivers and families
- feeding, sleep and settling
- nutrition and healthy habits
- connecting and bonding with baby or child
- health checks, scans, blood tests and vaccination reminders
- wellbeing and self‑care
- local health, social and education services
- development milestones from pregnancy through to age 5.
Examples of messages
Messages are sent from the voice of a baby or Aunty to Mother/Mama/Carer or Father/Papa/Caregiver.
-
Example 1
Halo Mama, pēpi (baby) learns when you have a mix of quiet and active play. Put on some singsing (music) and dance! You can show pēpi (baby) some cultural dances too!
Example 2
Hey Mum, I am deadly because YOU are deadly! Being with you – whether we're out at the library, park or with mob – makes me happy.
Example 3
Dad reading is really important. It grows my brain & my language. We can read whatever you like, I love pics too, so feel free to "read" those to me as well.
Culturally appropriate content
We provide messages designed for:
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- Māori and Pacific Islands community
- Cook Islands community.
These messages were created with cultural advisors to make sure they are respectful, safe and meaningful. Cultural words, expressions and traditions are used so families feel proud, strong and connected from the very start of your journey with Connecting2u.
We’re continuing to grow our message suites so more families across Queensland can connect in ways that feel right for them. Cook Island Māori will be available from September 2026. If your language isn’t included yet, we’re working towards it.
