Griffith University is working with Connecting2u to review the program and improve its services.
Connecting2u is a free text messaging service that supports Queensland parents and carers during pregnancy (antenatal) and in the first 5 years of their child’s life. Sign up to receive helpful information to boost health, development, and overall wellbeing. There are 2 messaging services on offer.

Sign up for pregnancy (antenatal) messages
Get messages each week about nutrition, health check reminders, self-care, and plenty more before your baby is born.

Sign up for 0 to 5 years messages
Texts about keeping your baby happy and healthy and learn about what to expect.
Once your baby is born, you can opt out of the pregnancy (antenatal) messages and sign up to receive the 0 to 5 years messages.
Eligibility for services
The pregnancy (antenatal) service is available to expecting parents. The 0 to 5 years’ service is available to parents and carers with children under 5 years.
Culturally tailored messaging
Connecting2u also offers messaging that has been culturally tailored for Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, Māori and Pacific Islander families.
These messages were co-created with cultural advisors to make sure they are respectful, safe, and meaningful. Cultural words and expressions are used that help families feel proud and connected.
Māori and Pacific Islander messages
Our Māori and Pacific Islander messages also include words from a wide range of Pacific languages. These languages reflect the diversity of Pacific cultures living in Queensland.
The languages include: Chamorro, Fäeag Rotuạm Ta, Futunan, Gagana Samoa, Gagana Tokelau, Kajin Majel/Ebon, Lea-Faka Tonga, Dorerin Naoero, Norf’k. Olelo Hawai’I, Solomon Aelan Pidjin, Pikern, Reo Tahiti, Te Gana Tuvalu, Te Reo Māori, Te Reo Māori Kūki ‘Āirani, Te Taetae ni Kiribati, Tekoi er a Belau, Papua Niugini Tok Pisin, Vagahau Niue, Vananga Rapanui, Vosa Vaka Viti, Wallisian, Chuukese, Vanuatu Bislama and Yapese.
Examples of messages
Pregnancy (antenatal) messages include information about:
- care options and supporting mum through physical changes
- nutrition during pregnancy
- health checks, scans, and blood tests
- your baby’s development and promoting bonding with your baby
- emotional wellbeing and self-care
- tailored messages for dads.
Messages for 0 to 5 year olds include information about:
- bonding with your child
- child development milestones
- health checks and vaccinations
- feeding, sleep and settling
- health, social and educational services.

Pregnancy checks and screenings
Time to book in for your 1st antenatal appts. If you haven't already, it's time to see your GP. They can help you with booking a Midwife or hospital appt.
My 6-month immunisation
My 6-month immunisation & health check is due soon. I can now get the flu vaccine for free. Check with 13HEALTH - 13 43 25 84 on where to get my checks done.

You can opt out any time by replying ‘STOP’ to any of the text messages we send you or by emailing connecting2u@health.qld.gov.au.
