Queensland Specialist Immunisation Service
The Queensland Specialist Immunisation Service (QSIS) provides vaccination advice for children with complex medical conditions as well as children who have experienced, are at risk of an adverse event following immunisation, as well as children who have had failed attempts to vaccinate due to needle-phobia. Our team consists of immunisation specialists includes senior medical, nursing and allied health staff.

Specialist Immunisation Clinic
Level 3 (3c) Outpatients, Queensland Children’s Hospital, South Brisbane 4101
Our Specialist Immunisation Clinic provides immunisation services to children who:
- have previously had an adverse event following immunisation or are at risk of a significant adverse event
- have an underlying complex medical condition
- require post immunisation supervision in a hospital setting.
Children can be referred to the QSIS Specialist Clinic by their treating doctor.
Who can access this service?
Queensland Specialist Immunisation Service
The service is available state-wide via referral. Telephone advice or telehealth consultation can be provided.
Immunisation Centre (2g)
This service is available to patients and families accessing services at the Queensland Children’s Hospital.
Catchment area
This service is available to children living in Queensland and Northern New South Wales.
Telehealth appointments are also available to patients living outside the catchment area when clinically appropriate.
Do I need a referral?
You will need a referral to access the specialist immunisation clinic.
Please speak with your general practitioner or health professional about being referred to this service.
Other referral information
Please bring your child’s documented immunisation history and any previous test results you have available with you to your appointment.

The Immunisation Centre (2g) operates Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm. No appointment is necessary.
