Associate Professor Anthony Herbert

Associate Professor Anthony Herbert is the Director of the Paediatric Palliative Care Service at Children’s Health Queensland and an Adjunct Associate Professor in the School of Nursing at the Queensland University of Technology.

After undertaking paediatrics training, A/Professor Herbert did additional speciality studies in medical oncology and completed a fellowship in paediatric palliative care.

His research focuses on children with life-limiting conditions and communication in paediatric palliative care. He is the current Chair of the Paediatric Palliative Care Working Group of the Queensland Statewide Child and Youth Network, and a contributor to Palliative Care Therapeutic Guidelines (being revised in 2021).

A/Professor Herbert is also Project Lead of the national Quality of Care Collaborative of Australia (QuoCCA) to upskill and mentor healthcare professionals.
