Dr Alex De Young

Dr Alex De Young is a clinical psychologist and Service Evaluation and Research Coordinator at Children’s Health Queensland’s Queensland Centre for Perinatal and Infant Mental Health. She is also a Research Fellow at The University of Queensland’s Centre for Children’s Burns and Trauma Research.
After training as a psychologist and completing her PhD at The University of Queensland, she developed a specialty research focus assessing and treating the psychological impact of trauma on infants and young people.
Her key research areas include post-traumatic stress disorder in preschool-aged children, trauma reactions in children and parents who have experienced medical trauma and natural disasters and early intervention programs for traumatic stress.
