ATMs

You can withdraw cash from an ATM on level 2, near the Cashier Office.

Cashier

You can pay for any services, equipment or medicine that your child needs at the Cashier Office on level 2. It's open Monday to Friday from 7 am to 6 pm.

Central Resource Service

Our Central Resource Service on level 2 manages any medical supplies and equipment you may need for your child's ongoing care at home. The resource service is open from 7 am to 3:30 pm. You can contact the team on 07 3068 4720 or email CHQ_CRS@health.qld.gov.au

Family lounges

Every inpatient ward and unit has a lounge for families and visitors with a:

  • kitchenette for making tea and coffee
  • fridge, microwave and sandwich toaster
  • dining table and TV
  • a shower and toilet.

Ronald McDonald House Family Lounge

The Ronald McDonald lounge is on level 2 by the A lifts. It has a kitchen, bathroom and laundry facilities, as well as space for the kids to play.

Family Resource Centre

Our Family Resource Centre on level 2 (opposite the reception desk) is open daily from 7 am to 8 pm, offering a range of services including:

  • Patient and Family Travel Hub
  • Photocopying and computer access
  • Indigenous Hospital Liaison Officers
  • Emergency clothing and toiletries

Food and shops

Find food and other shops in the hospital and see what’s close by.

Fun and entertainment

You can still have fun in hospital, even if you can't leave your room.

Gardens

Our main rooftop garden is on level 5, and there are other outdoor areas for patients on levels 6, 8 and 9.

Hoist

We have hoist equipment you can use in the unisex toilet and shower next to Kidzone on level 6.

You can also use your own sling (loop-style compatible) or ask us if you need to borrow one.

Information desks

Our information desks are on levels 2 and 3.

Laundry

We have laundries on levels 8 and 11. These are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Mobile charging stations

We have mobile charging stations throughout the hospital where you can charge your phones and devices.

Multi-faith centre

Our multi-faith centre on level 5 offers spiritual support to families of all religions and faiths while your child is in hospital.

Parenting rooms

We have parent rooms throughout the hospital where you can change and breastfeed your baby.

Personal care rooms

You can use our personal care rooms for things like dressing your child or other hygiene needs. These are on levels 2 and 6.

Pharmacies

We have 2 pharmacies. Our main pharmacy is on level 2. There is another pharmacy for oncology patients on level 5.

Play areas

There are play areas located throughout the hospital in wards and outpatient clinics.

Playground

The hospital's outdoor playground is on level 2, just around the corner from the main entrance on Raymond Terrace or the Food Court.

Post

There’s a post box outside the Mater Mothers Hospital, off Raymond Terrace. The nearest Post Office is at 803 Stanley Street, Woolloongabba.

Kidzone

The Children's Hospital Foundation's Kidzone on level 6 is a place for kids to have fun, play and just be kids. We have supervised play for children over 2 so parents and carers can have a break.

Telephones

There are public telephones on levels 1 and 2.

Wi-Fi

We have free Wi-Fi for patients, families and visitors.
